For journalists

A stronger story.
A source to show.

Find the incident. Inspect the evidence. Give your reader a record they can follow.

Follow a story back to the evidenceSource measurements, a time window and network context converge into an incident record. A line joins that record to a citation. The illustration contains no real incident or sample data.

Forecasts are model estimates. Check validation, observation dates and uncertainty before reporting them as a risk signal.

Citation formats and embed options

Use the specific incident URL, observation date and relevant source. Keep the measurement scope in the story; a network anomaly alone does not establish intent.

Sources, scope and reuse

Measurement sources include OONI, CensoredPlanet, IODA and Voidly probes. Citizen Lab provides test-list context. Coverage, recency and confidence vary by source and network.

Voidly-original incidents, scores and annotations are CC BY 4.0. Raw upstream data retains its own license; OONI raw data and Citizen Lab test lists are CC BY-NC-SA 4.0. Dataset licenses do not license application code.

Keep source attribution with embeds and exports. The license for a Voidly-original record does not replace the license of raw evidence from an upstream source.

Comment, briefings and coordinated write-ups

Email your beat, outlet, deadline and question to press@voidly.ai. Ask for comment, a source walkthrough or an embed sized for your article.

On request, Voidly can coordinate a hold of up to 24 hours on its own research write-up. Underlying data is published to everyone at the same time.

ChatGPT is hard-blocked in China but Claude is not — why?

OONI evidence shows OpenAI's ChatGPT and Google's Gemini are 100% blocked across Chinese ISPs (DNS-level blocking). Anthropic's Claude shows zero anomalies in the same window. The asymmetry is consistent and reproducible.

Russia is uniformly interfering with 5 Western AI services

Russia shows 6-8% interference rates on ChatGPT, openai.com, Claude, and Gemini — a tighter cluster than typical natural variation. The uniformity suggests deliberate, coordinated middlebox behavior, not isolated outages.

Recent stories citing Voidly.

Atlas publishes Voidly's public internet-censorship research. We are actively seeking the first wave of media citations. Our research artifacts and data are already being used internally by privacy researchers and AI labs — we'd love to be cited by your story.

If you've already cited Voidly — or are about to — email press@voidly.ai and we'll add a link here. We will also hold our own write-ups for up to 24 hours on request. The data itself is never embargoed — it publishes to everyone at the same moment.

Available for comment.

Voidly is solo-founded right now, so all beat contacts route to the founder directly. Email is fastest. We respond within the same business day for press inquiries.

Embargo

24-hour embargo on our write-ups. We will hold a research write-up so your story runs first. We do not embargo the data — incidents hit the public feed for everyone at the same moment. To coordinate on a write-up, email press@voidly.ai with your outlet, beat, and target publication date.
